Trip Description: My first entry...just an idea, a dream at this point. I'm 'in between' boats and planning an adventure from my Georgian Bay home base through the Great Lakes to the Erie Barge Canal and Hudson River. Then a decision.....trans-Atlantic to the Azores and the Meditteranean, or, Bermuda, or, a combination of the ICW and offshore to the Caribbean for a winter. Then on to Panama and up the West Coast to Vancouver to explore the Gulf Islands, the Inside Passage, and some cruising to the north. I'm upgrading my CPS knowledge taking the Extended Cruising and Marine Maintenance courses this winter as I narrow down to a 'short-list' of boats...Aloha 34, Niagara 35, C&C Landfall 35, Valliant 32, Ontario 32...seaworthiness, shoal draft, single-handing, cruising comforts, room for visitors and friends/family. I hope to repeat the WCC 'sailing south' weekend course at Ashbridges Bay this winter....then some more upgrades in weather, pilotting, radar/gps celestial navigation through my local CPS Squadron. Purchase a used boat, outfit her, a summer of cruising Georgian Bay and the North Channel to 'shake down' the boat and I. It's time to do this.........Bill
